Help from Professional Support Groups
Grief, guilt, loneliness and anger are just some of the emotions we can experience when we lose our animal companions. And then there’s coping with the usual questions from unfeeling relatives and friends asking “So when are you going to get another dog (or cat)?” As if any new animal could immediately replace the one you’ve just lost.
Intense grief over the loss of a pet is completely natural. Don’t hide your feelings. If you have family and friends who love pets, talk to them, but if not, seek out a support group.
